What to expect with SBG Photography

First, if you don't know me, I'm short. Real short, don't be surprised if you see me with a small step stool (or ladder) at the session ;-)

Moving on:

I will always ask you before the session to tell me a little about yourself, your relationship, your family, your child's likes / dislikes. I'm not being nosey, I'm doing this so we can have fun and you can feel relaxed during a session! I like to talk and have fun during the shoots, and it helps if I know some of your interests. I will NEVER ask your child to say "cheese". Instead, I like to talk to them about the things that I know they like. 9 times out of 10, we will get natural smiles from them as they recount their favorite movie or something that makes them happy. In fact, sometimes, I laugh too at something they say. Fun! Plus, the more I talk with them and laugh with them, the more relaxed they become and we can get more out of a session. And sometimes, just sometimes, a dance party occurs ;-)

With couples, whether it be engagement pictures or "just because" pictures, I want to know your story. I want to know if someone doesn't feel comfortable in front of a camera. All of this will help me get the best pictures for you. Is your spouse nervous and tense during pictures? Let's plan a time of day when you can enjoy a glass of wine before photos or just get together and chat! We will take our time, chat, and make the experience fun for them and you!

Me and my crazy hubby

How to you normally feel when getting ready for family pictures? Nervous, rushing around, fretting over outfits, hair, and threatening your kids to smiles or else? I'm VERY guilty of this, I've done I do this with my own family (Momzilla)!

However, the more I do this, the more I see how I want to change that! Make it fun. Your family is very likely not a formal, stiff, perfectly put together family. If you are, terrific, but I want to know your secret. Seriously though, I want to capture you and your family as you are. Silly? Serious? Quiet? Loving? I want to capture that for you.

We will do some "posed posing" of course for those nifty wall frames you have. But, in between those we can talk, walk, play. I can guarantee that the shots I get during those times may just be some of your favorites :-)

So, if you schedule with me and I ask you about your child, your family, your relationship, don't think I'm crazy, I'm just taking steps to get the best pictures for you that you will treasure for a lifetime! I pour my heart into every session I do. I hope that comes through in your photos through me.  Also, keep in mind that this is my hobby. At this time in my life, I have my heart being pulled in so many other directions. I love being a Wife, a Mother, a employee, a friend, a daughter, a sister, etc, etc. So, for now, photography will remain mostly a hobby. If you book with me, I don't offer sit down, in person consultations first or "styled sessions", what you see is what you get. Pretty basic. If that's what you are looking for, I look forward to meeting you!

God Bless!
